The Tale of April 7th
Following on from the massive hit of First Dates Ireland, The Wyatt team decided to host our very own First Dates. Just like on the TV show we tried our best to match couples based on what they were looking for in a partner, their interests, hobbies & age profiles.
Eager attendees, of all ages, arrived to The Wyatt Hotel at their dedicated times where they were all greeted with a glass of bubbly. Individual daters were escorted to The Lane Suite where everyone met their date for the first time!! The air was full of anticipation, excitement, fright and good humour all in one! The event was a true joy to host with a unique feel-good factor.
All daters were treated to a culinary feast, fit for any aspiring foodies. The feedback from all diners was outstanding with specific mentions on the steaks, duck and desserts. Michael Mangan, our First Dates Chef, had pulled out all the stops to really give everyone a wonderful taste experience. His detail and visual presentation on dishes was superb. The wine flowed as did conversations between couples. People who initially seemed unsure of their dates settled and some were the last to leave.
Dinner service lasted approximately two hours and as dates finished each couple was invited to a private area and asked if they would like to see each other again. Some couples opted not to do 'the chairs' where others were keen to do the full ‘first dates’ experience. The Wyatt Hotel are absolutely thrilled to learn that twelve of our couples were keen to see each other again.
After all the formalities, everyone retreated to Cobbler's Bar. Dean Kinsella sang the night away. Everyone who attended mingled with each other and the organising team. It was wonderful to all the singles relax and enjoy each other’s company. We heard the night ran late for some!
We are thrilled to have hosted this one-off event. A positive and rewarding feeling has been left with all of our team and we do hope to roll out more single events in the future.
When we launched this event, we did not expect to get anywhere near what we did on applications. We ended up with over 265 applicants. Ideally, we would have loved to have everyone at the event. We set out to host twenty dates so we could ensure a quality event for everyone who attended. On behalf of all of the crew at The Wyatt Hotel we would like to apologise to anyone who applied but we were unable to host.
Until next time..... remember love is our true destiny.
