The Wyatt Hotel , located on the Octagon in the heart of Westport has gone through many changes since it was known as the Grand Central Hotel. Now our facilities include 51 individually designed bedrooms, JW's Bar & Brasserie, Function Rooms to accommodate a variety of meetings, banquets and weddings and the ever popular Cobblers Bar & Courtyard.
But enough about the bricks and mortar, what about the team....................
Our team at The Wyatt Hotel consists of many walks of life and nationalities. Some have just graduated from college, some are just going to college, some have been here as long back as anyone can remember and some are here just because they love working in the place (promise!).
Barney Clarke, the General Manager, joined The Wyatt Team in January 2008. Barney has previously worked in the Merrion Hotel Dublin; Hotel Westport; The House Hotel Galway, while also gaining experience working in America and Australia.
Our Head Chef, Eoin McDonnell, has been with us for nearly six and a half years. Eoin trained in the Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny and also the Earl of Desmond Hotel in Tralee, Co Kerry after training he moved to Switzerland and worked in some of the most prestigious restaurants for nine years. On returning home he worked at a Head Chef position in some of Dublins best restaurants before joining the Wyatt Hotel Team in 2003.
Annette Ryan, our Reservations Manager, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in The Temple Bar Hotel, Dublin. Annette ensures the reservation process is as simple and straightforward for our guests as possible.
Westport local Bernie Greene is our Accommodations Manager and has been with us since the hotel was called the Grand Central. Aside from telling us ghost stories about how the hotel is haunted, Bernie ensures that each bedroom is cleaned to the highest of standards and every guest accommodation request is dealt with in a quick and timely manner.
